The campaign committee of attorney general candidate Gary Grasso, Citizens for Gary Grasso, returned a $5,000 contribution from Filippo Rovito Jr. on July 16, according to the Illinois State Board of Elections.

Candidates sometimes refuse or return contributions because they do not want their campaign to be affiliated with the donor. Rovito Jr. has not made any other contributions to Gary Grasso in the past 12 months.
