Analysis: Darien pays $4.97 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Darien Police Pension Fund
Taxpayers contributed 83.2 percent of the $1,765,957 the Darien Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $4.97 for every $1 from pension members, according to a DuPage Policy Journal analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.
In all, Darien contributed $1,468,691 to the fund, which saw a $82,984 decrease in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $295,483, or 16.7 percent, in 2018. Another $1,783 came from other unspecified sources.
