Analysis: Darien pays $3.12 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Tri-State FPD Firefighters Pension Fund
Taxpayers contributed 75.7 percent of the $1,592,297 the Tri-State FPD Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $3.12 for every $1 from pension members, according to a DuPage Policy Journal analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.
In all, Darien contributed $1,204,855 to the fund, which saw a $270,599 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $385,042, or 24.2 percent, in 2018. Another $2,400 came from other unspecified sources.
