2020 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Dupage County?

There were 295 offenders released on parole during 2020 that live in Dupage County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by DuPage Policy Journal.

The data shows 273 men and 22 women were released in Dupage County. Of the parolees, seven were veterans, and the median age was 37. The youngest parolee was a 20-year-old man convicted of a crime involving one or more weapons in 2020, and the oldest was a 70-year-old man convicted of a crime involving alcohol in 2019.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Marcus McNeal. He was convicted of homicide in 1993 when he was 21 years old. He is now 48.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
