2018 Recap: Parolees in Hanover Park convicted of drug crimes
There were four offenders convicted of drug crimes released on parole in Hanover Park during 2018, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the DuPage Policy Journal.
The data shows that four men were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for drug crimes was 35. The youngest parolee was a 24-year-old man sentenced in 2015, and the oldest was a 52-year-old man sentenced in 2013.
The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Juan Amezquita. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2013 when he was 45 years old. He is now 52.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
