2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Winfield?
There were two offenders released on parole during 2018 that live in Winfield zip codes, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by DuPage Policy Journal.
The data shows that both of the released offenders in Winfield were men. The younger parolee was a 22-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2015. The other was a 33-year-old man sentenced for a crime against a person in 2018.
The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Matthew D. Grover. He was convicted of a crime against a person in 2018 when he was 32 years old. He is now 33.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
