12 licensed child care facilities operated in Bartlett in 2025, DCFS data shows

In 2025, Bartlett counted 12 licensed child care facilities, according to the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.

Of those, seven were licensed as day care centers (58.3%) and five operated as group day care homes (41.7%).

Facilities in Bartlett serve children from infancy through age 12, including infants, toddlers, preschoolers and school-age children.

Providers in Bartlett offer care in multiple languages, with English available at all 12 facilities and Spanish at one.

Across Illinois, there were 8,602 licensed child care facilities in 2025.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has frozen certain federal child care and family assistance funds for California, Colorado, Minnesota, New York and Illinois because of concerns about fraud and improper use, the agency announced Jan. 6. Nearly $2.4 billion in Child Care and Development Fund grants, $7.35 billion in Temporary Assistance for Needy Families funds and $869 million in Social Services Block Grants are impacted, pending documentation from states before funds can be released. 

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker called the action “wrong and cruel” and indicated the state could challenge the freeze, stating Illinois has existing anti-fraud measures. 

Illinois officials say the freeze could impact about 100,000 families and more than 152,000 children supported by the state’s Child Care Assistance Program, in addition to thousands of licensed providers and 275 human service organizations.
