Winfield FD responds to 22 fires in 2018
Winfield Fire Department responded to 171 calls in 2018 - 6.6 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.
The calls in Winfield included 22 fires - eight structure fires, two vehicle fires and 12 other fires.
In all, the department saw $599,500 in fire loss - or about $27,250 per fire.
The department also received 149 false calls.
The Winfield Fire Department had an annual budget of $3,055,156 in 2018.
The Winfield FPD Firefighters Pension Fund, which has 13 active employees and two retired or inactive employees, was $299,913 positive as of April 2017, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $13,632 for every fire in 2017.
