'Watchdog' wannabes invited to learn the ropes

Anyone interested in
gaining a better understanding of local government and how to get more
information from it when necessary is being invited to a Better
Government Association (BGA) "Watchdog Training" event in Naperville on April
24.
The event, sponsored by DuPage County and the League of Women Voters Naperville, will primarily focus on the Freedom of Information and the Open Meetings acts. The BGA will also examine community involvement, vigilance and awareness of government practices.
The free event is open to the public and will begin at 7 p.m. at the DuPage Unitarian Universalist Church. Registration is required.
