USA Today says keep an eye on Glenbard North football star

USA Today knows to watch out for Glenbard North's Greg Newsome -- as should opposing receivers.

Newsome, a cornerback for the Panthers, was named one of USA Today's "20 players to watch" at the recent Pylon 7v7 Nationals competition in Dallas. The paper also called him one of the top 10 prospects in Illinois.

Newsome, who has committed to Northwestern, played in the competition with the Midwest BOOM team, which included another Midwestern "player to watch," Terez Traynor, a linebacker and wide receiver for Doss High School in Louisville, Kentucky.

247 Sports ranked Newsome in the top five athletes for the weekend content, commending him for being a three-star recruit and calling him the most reliable defensive back in the tournament.
