Three CoD athletes qualify for national meet

Three members of the College of DuPage
track and field team have qualified for the National Junior College
Athletic Association indoor championship, according to the school's
website.
Marco Martinez, an alumnus of Willowbrook High School, qualified by finishing in a time of eight minutes, 55 seconds in the 3,000-meter run in the Chicagoland Collegiate Track Championships on Feb. 11 in Naperville. Earlier this season, Nate Wesolek of West Chicago High School qualified in the pole vault by clearing 14-7 in the Mike Lints Invitational on Jan. 28 in Allendale, Michigan. Also at that meet, Torrain Haughton of Maine East High School qualified in the 800 run with a time of 1:55.9.
The CoD track and field program is in its first indoor season. The NJCAA indoor championship will be held March 3-4 in Pittsburg, Kansas.
The outdoor season will start in late March.
