The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) women’s soccer season continues to demonstrate strong performances from its member schools as the conference schedule advances. Teams have been noted for combining effective offenses with solid defensive play, resulting in a competitive start to the season.
Illinois Wesleyan’s Keira Robinson and Wheaton’s Leah Roe were named CCIW Women’s Soccer Student-Athletes of the Week. Robinson scored four goals over three games, including two in each of Illinois Wesleyan's matches against Knox and Wisconsin-Platteville. According to the release, "It is the first time a Titan has scored multiple goals in back-to-back games since 2022." Her five goals this season place her tied for second among CCIW players.
Leah Roe maintained a 0.00 goals-against average last week, recording shutouts against Wisconsin-Whitewater and Elmhurst. The release states, "She made four saves in a 0-0 draw with Wisconsin-Whitewater last Wednesday, then marshalled her back line and made multiple important catches and clearances in Saturday’s 1-0 CCIW victory over Elmhurst to help stop an attacking unit that has already scored 29 goals this year."
Carthage began league play with a 4-1 win at Millikin, aided by Emma Amberg's two-goal performance. Carthage currently leads the conference in corner kicks per game and will host Illinois Wesleyan for Senior Day on Saturday.
North Central opened its conference schedule with a 5-1 win over Carroll, avenging last year's regular-season loss to the Pioneers. Jordan Lange leads North Central in points and is tied for first in the conference with five assists.
North Park secured a 2-1 road victory at Augustana behind two goals from Sofia Svensson. Goalkeeper Paige MacRitchie has played every minute for North Park this season and ranks second in the league with 53 saves.
Wheaton achieved its third consecutive shutout by defeating Elmhurst 1-0. Goalkeeper Leah Roe leads all CCIW goalkeepers with six shutouts this fall.
Elmhurst holds a 9-2-1 overall record after shutting out Carroll 2-0 on Wednesday. The Bluejays lead the conference in total goals, shots, and defensive categories such as fewest goals allowed and most shutouts.
Illinois Wesleyan completed non-conference play with a draw against Wisconsin-Platteville. Liza Wiley leads IWU in points and assists while Keira Robinson has scored five times this season.
Augustana finished its homestand with a draw against Coe and sits at 3-5-2 overall. Goalkeeper Sara Schinker leads the league both in total saves (60) and save percentage (.833).
Millikin prepares to face Elmhurst after falling to Carthage last week. The team leads the CCIW in total saves (75), averaging nearly seven per match.
Carroll is seeking its first league win when it hosts Augustana on Saturday afternoon. Carmella Nowak is Carroll's leading scorer so far this season.
Upcoming matches across the conference include several key contests that could impact standings as teams look toward postseason positioning.
