Illinois State Representative Amy Grant (R-Wheaton) has released a statement following recent violent incidents, including a school shooting in Colorado and the assassination of Charlie Kirk. In her message, Rep. Grant addressed the impact of these events on affected communities.
“These senseless acts of violence are devastating and have no place in our country. My heart breaks for the families who are grieving and the communities forever changed by these tragedies. We must stand together to reject hatred, protect our children, and restore respect and civility in our public life,” Grant stated.
Grant is currently serving her fourth term as State Representative for Illinois’ 47th district, which covers parts of DuPage County such as Naperville, Warrenville, Glen Ellyn, Wheaton, Lisle, Carol Stream, Bartlett, West Chicago, Winfield, and Wayne. She was elected to the Illinois State House in 2023 to represent the 47th House District after Deanne Mazzochi.
