CCIW student-athletes honored on NWCA Women's Scholar All-America Award list

The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) has recognized 37 student-athletes from the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) in its NCAA Women’s Scholar All-America Award list. These athletes, hailing from five different CCIW programs, have shown commendable performance both academically and athletically.

To qualify for this recognition, student-athletes must meet specific criteria: a top-eight finish at nationals with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, participation in at least 15 matches with a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA, or being a national qualifier with at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA.

Representing Augustana are Bri Bynum, Aine Moffit, Jo Orozco, and Liz Ramirez. Aurora's honorees include Mia Moore, Sharon Moreno, Marisol Nugent, Antonia Phillips, and Genesis Ramirez. Carthage features Madison Cook, Alaina Hollendoner, Natalie Majer, Izabelle Nelson Carrillo, and Adele Senzig on the list.

Elmhurst is represented by Veronica Cosio. North Central has the most honorees with Riley Aamold, Bella Bolek, Caylynn Chandler, Dakota Drew, Mikayla Garcia, Taylor Graveman, Emma Grimm, Gracie Guarino, Fiona McConnell, Taylor Miess, Eliano Paramo, Sydney Park among others making the list.

These athletes have not only excelled in their sport but also maintained high academic standards as part of their collegiate experience.
