The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Bowling Championship is set to take place this weekend at Suburbanite Bowl in Westmont, Illinois. Marian, the regular-season champion, will aim to defend its title in the four-team double-elimination tournament starting Saturday.
The competition begins with matches between top-seeded Marian and #4 Elmhurst, as well as #2 Carroll against #3 Aurora. A second session will follow later on Saturday. Sunday will feature an elimination match in the morning and a championship session later that day.
Admission to the event is $10 per day for adults and $5 for senior citizens, students, and children over two years old. Payment is cash only.
The tournament follows a mega-match format where winners are determined through a best-of-three match sequence: five-person team match, Baker total pinfall, and a best-of-seven Baker match play. Matches will be conducted on the same pair of lanes under normal rules with modified Baker roll-offs used to break ties.
Marian secured the top seed by achieving a 10-2 head-to-head record during regular-season events. The Sabres have won or shared the regular-season title for four consecutive seasons.
Carroll returns to the CCIW Championship after posting a 9-3 record in regular-season play. They face Aurora on Saturday, who earned their spot with a 7-5 conference record and reached the championship series last season for the first time.
Elmhurst hosts this year's championship as the fourth seed after winning a tiebreaker based on total pinfall against Augustana. This marks Elmhurst's first appearance under the current four-team format.
The tournament will be streamed live on Elmhurst’s YouTube channel with links available at CCIW Championship Central website.
