CCIW secures multiple All-America honors at NCAA indoor championships

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) celebrated a significant achievement at the NCAA Division III Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships held in Rochester, New York. The conference secured 14 All-America First Team honors, with notable performances from athletes representing Augustana, Elmhurst, and North Central.

McKenzie Reser of Augustana earned two First Team accolades by finishing second in the 400 meters and seventh in the 200 meters. Additionally, she achieved Second Team recognition with a 15th-place finish in the 60 meters. Elmhurst's Alyssa Busker was also a standout performer, claiming second place in the 200 meters and fourth place in the 60 meters. Lindsey Novak from North Central secured eighth-place finishes in both the 200 meters and the 400 meters.

These achievements contributed to Augustana and Elmhurst tying for tenth place overall with 18 points each.

First-Team All-America status is awarded to athletes who finish between first and eighth places in individual events and relays. Those finishing between ninth and sixteenth earn Second-Team status.

Additional CCIW honorees included Lina Maatouk of Augustana who placed second in the 800 meters, Thea Ring from North Park who finished as runner-up in the pentathlon, Vanessa Uitenbroek from Carroll securing third place in shot put alongside teammate Maria Falk who finished eighth. Carthage's Abigail Calhoun excelled in triple jump while Nicole Tarpley impressed with her performance in weight throw. Elmhurst's Lauren Marshall achieved top eight finishes across two events - placing fifth in the 60 meter dash and Chloe Selmer coming eighth for long jump. Gwen Berenyi represented North Central well by earning fifth place honors within pole vault competition.

In terms of team results:

- Augustana tied for tenth position along with Elmhurst on an equal score tallying at eighteen points apiece

- North Park landed twenty-ninth spot scoring eight points

- Carroll ranked thirty-fourth amassing seven points

- North Central positioned themselves thirty-sixth accumulating six points

- Carthage concluded forty-ninth securing three points

CCIW Performances:
