Six CCIW wrestlers earn All-America honors at NCAA Division III Championships

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) witnessed six student-athletes achieve All-America honors at the NCAA Division III Men’s Wrestling Championship held in Providence, R.I. North Central led the conference with four athletes placing in the event.

North Central secured sixth place as a team, accumulating 60 points. Millikin finished 26th with 17.5 points. Christian Guzman from North Central was a standout performer, securing second place in the 125-pound category after winning four matches before losing in the final. He concluded his season with an impressive record of 35-1.

Bradley Rosen also represented North Central well by claiming third place in the 141-pound bracket. Despite an early loss, Rosen bounced back with six consecutive wins in the consolation round, including a decisive victory over Ty Bisek of Concordia-Moorhead.

Javen Estrada and Robby Bates both earned eighth-place finishes for North Central in their respective weight classes of 174 pounds and 285 pounds.

Millikin's Dejon Glaster made notable progress by finishing fourth nationally at 174 pounds. His achievements included three decision victories and a fall against Lycoming’s Nolen Zeigler during the championship rounds.

Wheaton's Jackson Punzel placed eighth in the 197-pound category, contributing to Wheaton's overall score with three straight wins in the consolation round, including a pinfall against Matthew Kelly of Rhode Island College.

The team results were as follows: North Central took sixth place with 60 points; Millikin came in at 26th with 17.5 points; Wheaton placed 44th with 7.5 points; Elmhurst finished at 49th with three points; and Augustana was ranked at 58th with half a point.
