North Central College's Braden Nicholson claimed a national title in the 3,000 meters at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships held last Friday and Saturday in Rochester, New York. Nicholson's performance was part of a successful showing for the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW), with 11 student-athletes earning All-America status.

Nicholson completed the race in 8:07.39, securing North Central's second national title in this event and contributing to the team's 16th-place finish with 10 points.

The championship awards First-Team All-America status to those finishing first through eighth in individual events and relays. Second-Team All-America is awarded to those placing ninth through 16th in individual events and ninth through tenth in relays.

Jereme Ombogo from North Park University achieved First Team All-America honors by finishing fourth in the 60 meters and eighth in the 200 meters. Other top-eight finishers included Magnus Wells from Augustana College and Lucas Leal from Carthage College, both competing in the weight throw; Evan Lowder from Illinois Wesleyan University in the 400 meters; and Kyle Hensley from Millikin University in pole vault.

In team results, North Central finished 16th with 10 points, followed by North Park at 34th with six points, Millikin at 44th with four-and-a-half points, Carthage at 50th with three points, while Augustana and Illinois Wesleyan tied for 65th place with one point each.
