Mariellyn Vivo Conference Coordinator | College Conference Of Wisconsin And Illinois

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) has announced its Softball Student-Athletes of the Week for games played between March 10 and March 16.

Clare Rettler, a junior from Carthage, was recognized as the Hitter of the Week. Rettler achieved a batting average of .517 over eight games in Winter Haven, Florida. She recorded six multi-hit games and notably went 3-for-4 with a triple in a win against Curry. Rettler also drove in five runs, scored seven times, and broke Carthage's all-time stolen base record with nine steals during the week.

Maddie Conway, a graduate student from Carthage, earned the title of Pitcher of the Week. Conway secured four victories with an earned-run average of 1.69 across 29 innings pitched. She struck out 17 batters and completed three complete-game wins against Curry, Wittenberg, and Gettysburg.

The CCIW also acknowledged previous weekly honorees: Jen Kuhn from Illinois Wesleyan as Hitter on March 10 and Mallory Holland from Illinois Wesleyan as Pitcher on March 10.
