Mariellyn Vivo Conference Coordinator | College Conference Of Wisconsin And Illinois
The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) has announced the Baseball Student-Athletes of the Week for performances during games held from March 3 to March 9.
Kaileb Hackman, a freshman at Augustana, was named Hitter of the Week. Hackman achieved a .462 batting average and a 1.231 slugging percentage over three games. His performance included multi-hit games in all appearances, contributing to victories against Baruch and Haverford. In a game against Baruch in Fort Myers, Florida, Hackman went 2-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs during a decisive 30-3 win. He continued his strong showing against Texas-Dallas with two hits, including his first career home run, driving in three runs and hitting another double. Hackman concluded the weekend by hitting his second home run in a game on Sunday.
Nate Burden, also a freshman from Wheaton, earned recognition as Pitcher of the Week. Burden delivered seven scoreless innings in Wheaton's 10-0 victory over Kenyon on Saturday in Fort Pierce, Florida. During this game, he recorded nine strikeouts and allowed only one walk, marking his first collegiate win.
