Rep. Sean Casten, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Illinois' 6th district, shared his views on various topics through a series of tweets. His statements reflect his positions on energy policy, community engagement, and international relations.

On January 23, 2025, Rep. Casten commented on President Trump's declaration of a national energy emergency. He likened it to a magician's trick and described it as "totally imaginary." According to Casten, "The only 'emergency' is that fossil fuel companies are worried they may one day be forced to compete purely on their merits in the open market."

On January 24, 2025, Rep. Casten encouraged public participation in honoring veterans by crafting valentines. He invited constituents to "Mail or drop off your cards by Friday, February 7th."

Later that day, Rep. Casten expressed concern over President Trump's decision to revoke sanctions against extremists in the West Bank. He stated that this action was counterproductive to peace efforts between Israelis and Palestinians. In collaboration with Senator Durbin, Senator Van Hollen, and Rep. DeLauro, he issued a statement highlighting these concerns: "President Trump’s decision...is directly at odds with the pursuit of peace for Israelis and Palestinians in the region."
