DuPage County State's Attorney Bob Berlin has been recognized by Fight Crime: Invest in Kids with the 2024 Champion for Kids Award. This award was presented during the organization's annual Day at the Capitol event in Springfield. Berlin is acknowledged for his extensive support of initiatives that guide children away from crime towards more successful paths.

Berlin, a member of the Illinois Executive Committee for Fight Crime: Invest in Kids, was one of only six recipients nationwide to receive this honor. Sean Noble, Illinois State Director for the organization, presented the award at the Illinois Capitol Building. The event was attended by law enforcement colleagues, legislators, and other members of Fight Crime: Invest in Kids.

"I am truly honored and humbled to accept this award," Berlin stated. "I am proud to be affiliated with such a fine organization that not only recognizes but embraces the significance and viability of crime prevention through proven investments in children’s well-being."

Noble praised Berlin's commitment to research-backed approaches linking public safety with investments in children's development. "State’s Attorney Berlin has long shown a deep respect for the research supporting our work," Noble said. "As a result of his dedication and advocacy, many thousands of kids are benefiting statewide from better opportunities for learning and growth."

Fight Crime: Invest in Kids is a bipartisan nonprofit network established in 1996 comprising over five thousand police chiefs, sheriffs, and prosecutors across the nation, including approximately three hundred fifty from Illinois. The organization focuses on advocating for services supported by schools and community providers to enhance crime prevention through investments in children's education and development.
