In the race for the 11th Congressional District, candidate Jerry Evans has announced the endorsement of esteemed former DuPage County Board Member Bob Larsen. Evans expressed his gratitude for the support from Larsen, a figure renowned for his distinguished background in military service and local governance.

“I am pleased to announce I have received the endorsement of Bob Larsen, Former DuPage County Board Member,” Evans said on Facebook.

“Bob was active duty with the U.S. Marine Corps for 3 years. He continued to serve with Reserves before retiring in 2011 as a Lieutenant Colonel. Bob also served on the DuPage County Board for 10 years and on the Board of Health for DuPage County for 8 years.”

“It is truly an honor to have the endorsement of someone who has done as much for our nation and community. Thank you Bob!”

Currently an attorney and partner at Cunningham, Meyer & Vedrine, Larsen is known for his fiscal responsibility and dedication to public safety. He is a retired Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel from Wheaton who served on the DuPage County Board for a decade (2010-2020) and on the DuPage County Board of Health for eight years (2012-2020), as reported by the Daily Herald.

During Larsen's tenure as board leader, he successfully balanced its budget each year while simultaneously keeping taxes low. This track record has drawn attention from voters and fellow officials alike. According to his biography, under Larsen’s leadership, the average homeowner in DuPage County paid less in taxes to the County at the end of his term than when he initially took office - a notable achievement in an era where tax burdens often rise. Moreover, Larsen demonstrated his commitment to fiscal responsibility by refusing a generous pension offered to County Board members.

Evans is a small businessman who emphasizes his commitment to education and community service in his Chicago-area campaign. The founder of a suburban music school, he graduated from Wheaton College with a music degree in 2002. Currently residing in Warrenville with his wife Lisa and sons Michael and Levi, Evans spends his time mentoring and training missionaries. According to his website, he also participates in missions to India, Mexico, and South Africa.

The 11th Congressional District is currently represented by U.S. Rep. Bill Foster (D-Ill.). As per Foster’s website, the district encompasses most of McHenry and Kane Counties along with parts of Boone, Lake, DeKalb, DuPage, Cook and Will Counties.
