Niki Conforti, the Republican candidate for Illinois’ 6th District, seized the opportunity to comment on Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s exit from Congress, emphasizing the timing and its impact on the Republican Party. Conforti pointed out the precarious position McCarthy’s departure creates for Republicans in the House, as the majority now holds a razor-thin margin.

"He’s out!" Conforti said on Facebook. "Former Speaker Kevin McCarthy announces he is leaving Congress this year! Mid-term! Nice way to walk out on the party, McCarthy. His departure leaves the Republicans in an even more tenuous position in the House. The Republican majority held a thin margin - now it is razor thin with both McCarthy and Santos leaving this month."

"That means we need to get more Republicans elected to protect our majority and continue the hard work of saving America from the radical Left.  Let’s work together to get all good Republican candidates elected to Congress! And be sure to vote Niki Conforti for US Congressional District 6."

McCarthy, a Republican representative from California, announced his early resignation from Congress and declared that he would not seek reelection in 2024. This news comes weeks after he became the first House Speaker in history to be removed, as reported by USA Today. Facing a turbulent tenure, he initially secured the speakership after 15 rounds of voting but was ousted 10 months after he allegedly breached the terms of a deal he’d made within the GOP House ranks. McCarthy’s departure further reduces the GOP majority in the House, leaving Republicans with a slim three-seat margin and posing challenges for House Speaker Mike Johnson’s legislative efforts.

According to her campaign website, Conforti brings a diverse background to her candidacy. Her experience includes roles as an energy consultant and a 12-year stint in healthcare with large health systems. She is an alumnus of the University of Chicago School of Economics and holds an MBA in Healthcare Administration from George Washington University. Born into an immigrant family with strong military traditions, Conforti is also actively engaged in various charitable initiatives through her church and supports organizations such as International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC) and Mothers2Mothers Charities.

The 6th Congressional District is currently represented by U.S. Rep. Sean Casten (D-Ill.). As per Casten’s website, the district map includes parts of Cook County, eastern DuPage County and the far Southwest Side of Chicago. It also encompasses several communities including Beverly, Mount Greenwood, Garfield Ridge, Clearing, Orland Hills, Western Springs, Orland Park, Palos Hills, Hickory Hills, Chicago Ridge, Bridgeview, Willow Springs, Indian Head Park, Tinley Park, Evergreen Park, Downers Grove, Lombard, Villa Park, Westmont, Elmhurst, Lisle, Darien and Wheaton.
