Do you want to work as a farmer? This is your chance to try your hand at different farming chores while learning about the importance of 1890s dairy farms and how their legacy is still around today. The event will take place from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Kline Creek Farm, located at 1N600 County Farm Road in West Chicago. This living history farm is owned and operated by the Forest Preserve District. The suggested admission fee is a donation of $5 for each person aged 3 and older.

Saturday, Aug. 19
Put on your boots, grab some work gloves, and help restore the environment during Volunteer Restoration Workday from 9 a.m. to noon. This event will occur at Churchill Woods’ Glacial Ridge in Lombard. No experience is necessary and the event is free to attend. Children 10 years and older are welcome with an adult.
