Terry Newsome, a candidate for Precinct Committeemen District 141, is calling on conservatives to be on the offensive against radical leftism.

Newsome has received endorsements from several others in the conservative ranks prior to the June 28 primary.

“The Illinois Republican Party needs to get much more aggressive in our fight against radical leftists. Especially the local DTRO,” Newsome said. “They need to realize we are in a war for our country and our children's future. More importantly, we are losing the war. I've been told the DTRO Republicans don't typically get involved at the school board level which unfortunately leaves us parents fighting alone against the corrupt well-funded teachers unions. We need help from the Republican Party. If the DTRO Leaders can't support us it's time to make some changes. We must pull out all the stops, [and] fight back aggressively and hard for our children. It's especially critical that we gain control of our children's corrupted Illinois educational system!”

U.S. Senate candidate Matt Dubiel gave Newsome his endorsement.

"I'm a product of District 99 schools in Downers Grove and what's going on there is terrible," Dubiel said in his endorsement. "I support Terry Newsome because he stands for children, parents, common sense and law & order — just like the people I know. Terry is a dad and a regular guy like me. We need more of that.”

Illinois sixth congressional candidate Rob Cruz has also endorsed Newsome’s candidacy.

“Terry is a blue collar dad who is standing up to protect our children from the national indoctrination effort that we see today," Cruz said in an endorsement. "I'm proud to stand with Terry as we continue this fight in the school boards, in the community and across the nation. Terry puts the children first and so do I! Proud to endorse Terry Newsome for precinct committee men 141.”

Newsome, a local parent, has taken up the cause of what he and other parents in the Downers Grove 99 School District view as offensive content in classrooms, the Dupage Policy Journal reported.

He argued that the inclusion of graphic books in public libraries is harmful to the children despite parents having a hard enough time monitoring their children on social media. He thinks "that still doesn't justify putting this stuff in the schools using our tax dollars."

Earlier this year, Newsome was also among those who were vocal against masking in schools, calling the mandate illegal.
