Pekau for Congress has issued the following press release:

Orland Park, IL — In one of the NRCC’s target districts, Mayor of Orland Park and 6th Congressional District candidate Keith Pekau has come out of the gates in 2022 strong, adding $138,000 to his campaign’s early fundraising success according to their filed report. This brings the campaign to nearly $270,000 raised since beginning in November. After surpassing internal fundraising goals, as well as benchmarks laid out by the NRCC and other political groups, Pekau is the clear Republican frontrunner and poised to take on the failed politics of Marie Newman or Sean Casten in November.

“We exceeded our success from our first fundraising quarter, even without significant support from outside our district, which is sure to come in the coming months as people around the country start to recognize the opportunity to flip a seat from blue to red in the Chicago suburbs,” Keith Pekau said. “6th District residents are listening to what we’re saying and are ready to have their needs put first. They are responding to our message on the issues that actually matter to their families, like crime, inflation, and the economy. Their contributions speak volumes in terms of their support.”

More details will be released when the Q1 fundraising report is complete and filed with the FEC in advance of the April 15th reporting date. The Q1 fundraising report is the only full quarter report ahead of the Illinois primary, and the results will clearly position Pekau’s campaign as the top Republican pickup opportunity in Illinois.

About Mayor Keith Pekau: Keith Pekau, the Mayor of Orland Park, is a decorated veteran and successful small businessman who will put people over politics in the 6th District. In Pekau’s first run for political office in 2017, he defeated a 28- year politician to become the mayor of his hometown. As a decorated combat veteran, Pekau served in the Air Force as an Instructor Weapons System Officer. After leaving the Air Force, he became a small businessman, founding GroundsKeeper Landscape Care and co-founding Fahrenheit Consulting. Pekau was born and raised in Orland Park, which is where he currently lives with his wife, Betty.
