A winter weather advisory remains in effect until 6 AM on Friday morning, with the possibility of 2-4" of snow accumulation through the overnight hours. Public Works has been gearing up throughout the day and crews are currently out salting the roads. They will be back out in the early morning hours to clear the roads from the overnight accumulation.
Please use caution when driving. Motorists are reminded to please give plows and salt trucks plenty of room.
Septemberfest 2022 Scholarships
The Joe Draghi Septemberfest Scholarship is again being offered by the Septemberfest Commission, with the addition of a Zaccardi Septemberfest Scholarship this year. The Septemberfest fund provides scholarships to Bloomingdale residents age 17 to 20.
Recipients will be announced at the 48th annual Septemberfest on Saturday, September 10, 2022. In addition to the 4 Joe Draghi Septemberfest Scholarship recipients, this year the Septemberfest Commission will be awarding 2 Zaccardi Trade School Scholarship recipients. All 2022 scholarship awards will be $2,000 each.
Applications must be postmarked no later than April 11, 2022. Any application received after that date will not be considered.
The Septemberfest Commission would like to invite all Bloomingdale residents and businesses to support the Septemberfest Scholarship Fund. The award is funded through private, community and corporate contributions.
Bloomingdale Golf Club Curbside Fish Fry
It’s that time of year when Bloomingdale Golf Club’s in-house caterer, Catering with Elegance, offers its outstanding Haddock Fish Fry. Beginning Friday, March 4th and lasting through April 15th, they will be offering a curbside service only fish fry.
Orders will be taken beginning at 10:00 am on Fridays. Pick-up for your order will be between 4:30 pm and 7:30 PM at the Bloomingdale Golf Club.

Upcoming BASSET Training
The Bloomingdale Police Department is hosting their next responsible alcohol service (BASSET) training class at the Police Department on Wednesday, March 23rd at 5:00 PM in the Police Training Room.
This training session runs for approximately four (4) hours and the cost to attend is $40.00. There is no charge for employees from non-profit organizations to attend.

During the month of February, donations of Move in Essentials will be accepted at the Bloomingdale Village Hall, Library, Fire Department and Park District (Museum) facilities. Donated items will be provided to Veterans who are exiting homelessness.
The Bloomingdale VFW Post 7539 will deliver the supplies to Military Outreach USA for distribution to the veterans in need. To view a list of new items that are accepted, please CLICK HERE.
There are several local scholarship opportunities available for Bloomingdale college-bound students.
DuPage County Community Services will accept applications for the annual Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) now through May 31, 2022, or until funds are depleted. Eligible families are encouraged to take advantage of the program.

Reporting a Coyote Sighting
In order for the experts at Scientific Wildlife Management to better understand our coyote population and patterns, we ask that coyote sightings be reported online through the Village of Bloomingdale website. Please go to the village website "Public Safety", then select "Report A Coyote Sighting".
CHARACTER COUNTS! Award Nominations
If you know an individual who lives, works or attends school in Bloomingdale who displays one or more of the Six Pillars of Character, you are encouraged to nominate them for this award by completing and submitting a nomination form. Nomination forms can be found on the Bloomingdale CHARACTER COUNTS! website. The deadline for nominations is April 30, 2022.
