Q1 2020 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Will County?

There were 148 offenders released on parole during the first quarter of 2020 that live in Will County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by DuPage Policy Journal.

The data shows that 134 men and 14 women were released in Will County. Of the parolees, four were veterans, and the median age was 36. The youngest parolee was a 20-year-old woman sentenced for a crime against a person in 2019, and the oldest was a 70-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2018.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Adiel Cuevas. He was convicted of homicide in 1992 when he was 16 years old. He is now 44.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter of 2020 in each Will County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
