Illinois House candidate Laura Hois called on community members May 13 to join her in a food drive to support the Downers Grove FISH Food Pantry. She is running to represent Illinois 81st House District.
“I am inspired every day by the kind acts of neighbors who are donating food, sewing masks for local senior citizen centers or donating meals to health care workers,” Hois said. “Our friends and neighbors are going through a difficult time right now and I’m pleased my team and I can help alleviate one of their worries and support our community.”
To help the FISH Food Pantry with their critical needs as it supports community members, the Hois campaign organized a food drive, that collected cleaning supplies in addition to fresh and nonperishable food items.
Team Hois is volunteering to pick up donations from residents’ homes, without contact, if residents are interested in joining the food drive. To notify the campaign of participation, residents who wish to donate are urged to contact Hois by email at hoisforrep@gmail.com.
