B. Adopt a Highway: Nancy reported that the EIC held its 2nd clean-up of 2019 on May 18th. The workers were Nancy and Brent Flynn, Tony P., Allison and her daughter Willow, and Bob. They collected 5 bags of trash. On June 8th, the Democratic Party of Milton Township held its 2nd clean-up of 2019 and collected 4 bags of trash and 4 bags of recycle.

C. Arbor Day Report: Lowell School was the host and it was a nice celebration.

D. Native Plant Sale Report: Kay reported that everything was sold except for 1 1/2 palettes of June grass, which was then donated and planted at Edison Middle School.

E. Prairie Path Cleanup Report: Christine had sent an email that there was an amazing turnout despite the rain. They collected 50 bags of trash and recycling, about half of last year's collection.

VI. Upcoming Projects:

A. Monthly Electronic Recycling: Tony P. will be crew chief on July 13th with David and Allison assisting. Tony M. and Bob will be crew chiefs on August 10th.

B. Adopt a Highway: Our next highway clean-up will be 8:00-9:00 am on July 27th.

VII. Unfinished Business

A. "Nurses Closet": Dave may have a possible location -- Our Savior Lutheran Church at County Farm/Army Trail Roads in Carol Stream. He will continue the conversation with them.

B. Honorary Trees (Mert, Howard, & Phil): tabled until August

C. Social Media Channels for EIC: Carlo has learned that all communication must go through the city; however, they have worked well together.

D. We Are Still in Resolution: We are asked to all read this for the August meeting.

After our discussion, the EIC would vote on whether to recommend it to the City Council for adoption.

VIII. New Business

A. EIC Officers' Election: We are pleased that we will retain the same officers -- Ted Witte Chair, Cathy Coleman Secretary, Bob Young Treasurer.

B. Annual Report: Cathy has already submitted it to the city.

C. Recycling Collections: Bob has suggested that the city amend the website and state clearly what we can no longer take, i.e. household electronics, alkaline batteries (still collected at Zeus Battery, Bloomingdale), vacuums, speakers. Kay said that NAMI will hold an event at the county fairgrounds that will collect syringes and epi-pens. The date is Friday, July 12th, 10:00-2:00. The date for next year's paper shredding is April 4th. The Arbor Day tree planting will be on April 24th and the native plant sale will be on April 25th.
