Community Consolidated School District 89 issued the following announcement on Feb. 13.

The community is invited to donate blood at Glen Crest Middle School on Wednesday, March 6, 2019. The blood drive will be open from 2 to 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria of the school at 725 Sheehan Avenue, Glen Ellyn.

The blood drive is open to anyone in the community. Appointments will be honored first. To schedule a time, go to: https://ht.heartlandbc.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/5570316

In order to donate, you need to be at least 17 years old and in good health. You must weigh at least 110 pounds and have not donated blood for at least eight weeks. It is recommended that a donor eat something within the four hours prior to donation.

Glen Crest Middle School has become a regular host site for Heartland drives. The district will host blood drives from 2 to 6:30 p.m. at Glen Crest on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, May 1, 2019
