Val Montgomery led Republican Grant Wehrli in votes cast in Winfield Township for the District 41 state House race, according to the latest vote count.
Montgomery appeared to outpace Wehrli by a margin of 4.9 percent on Tuesday in the township.
In comparison, the 2014 winner, Republican Grant Wehrli, won by a margin of 18.2 percent in that jurisdiction, beating Democrat Ed Agustin, who received 1,094 votes to Wehrli's 1,580.
