Hinsdale Central's McKenna Revord sets cross country record

Hinsdale Central school officials are singing the praises of cross country star McKenna Revord.

“Congratulations to McKenna, finishing 14th and earning All-State honors,” school officials posted on the school’s Facebook page following her Class 3A tournament showing. “Way to go.”

Revord posted a time of 16:49.66 Peoria’s Detweiller Park, adding to a family legacy that also includes older sister Reillly, now a freshmen at Missouri, earning several state medals while starring at Hinsdale Central.

A three-time state qualifier, McKenna set a personal-best time in leading the Red Devils to a 17th place finish overall with 415 points.

 “It means a lot, how much I’ve been able to improve after putting in the hard work from the summer,” she told the Chicago Tribune. “The second mile was key. I tried to focus on that and visualize moving up during the race on that part.”

Naperville North (80 points), Yorkville (87) and Downers South (127) were the top three finishers at the meet
