Hinsdale Central star runner Matt Kusak recently finished fifth individually at the Boys ISHA Regional Cross Country meet, sparking Coach Jim Westphal’s team to an overall fourth-place showing.
The strong showing qualified the Red Devils for the upcoming sectionals, the school posted on Facebook. The sectional meet is set for Saturday, Oct. 27, at Marist High School in Midlothian starting at 10 a.m.
In a separate Facebook post, the school also saluted the girls’ team for also recently qualifying for the ISHA Sectionals by finishing fourth behind the strong performance of junior McKenna Revord’s.
The state cross country finals are next month in Peoria at Detweiller Park.
