Wood Dale Police Department issued the following announcement on Oct. 16.
The Wood Dale Police Department provides 24 hours emergency and non-emergency services.
The mission of Wood Dale Police Department is to enhance the quality of life in the City by working cooperatively with the public, protecting constitutional rights by enforcing the law, preserving the peace, reducing fear of crime and providing a safe community environment to live and work.
The Wood Dale Police Department has been recognized by the Regional Institute for Community Policing of the University of Illinois as having one of the most outstanding community policing programs in the State.
The Wood Dale Police Department was also recognized as one of eight departments in the State to have demonstrated leadership in traffic safety and receive an AAA Community Traffic Award.
The police department consists of 44 full time personnel (35 Sworn and 9 Non-Sworn employees) and 3 part time employees broken down into the following groups:
