Elmhurst Park District issued the following announcement on Aug. 28.
The community enjoyed a beautiful evening at Conrad Fischer Park, as they celebrated the ribbon cutting and reopening of the newly redeveloped playground with the Park Board. Board President Vince Spaeth noted the terrific turnout at the ribbon cutting and thanked residents for the tremendous amount of input on the new park renovations.
The playground will surely become a favorite neighborhood spot. It features new equipment geared to the 2-5 age group, additional seating and a new unitary surfacing.
The tennis courts at the park were also redeveloped. After gathering community input, staff determined that converting the two existing tennis courts and one roller hockey court to one tennis court, one futsal court and two half basketball courts would provide more recreational opportunities for the neighborhood.
