Here is the minutes provided by the Committee:

1. Call To Order

8:00 am meeting was called to order by Chairman Paul fichtner at 8:00 am.

4. Chairman's Remarks 

Chairman Fichtner announced that today would be his last meeting. When he decided not to run again in the fall due to a new job he thought that he could perform both functions until the end of his term in November. He found that his new job commitments did not allow him to fully participate in his duties as a county board member and felt it would not be fair to constituents or this board. He thanked staff for their support over the years. He would give his full comments at the County Board meeting.

5. Presentation

A. Pro Forma 2017 Year End Financials - Paul Rafac

Paul Rafac, Chief Financial Officer, presented year end figures which are prior to the final audit. He outlined one time expenses for the year including DuComm, green capital initiatives, and the Regional Office of Education. Member Krajewski requested that figures be presented that include the impact of changes from Springfield. Mr. Rafac went over the areas that were over/under budgeted figures. The committee discussed how to alert the board to any overage. It was suggested that the expenditures are reviewed and reported to the board quarterly.

The hourly rate for this contract is $45.00 per hour, for the period April 16, 2018 through April 15, 2019, for a contract total not to exceed $43,000.00. Other Professional Services not subject to competitive bidding per 55 ILCS 5/5-1022(a). Vendor selected pursuant to DuPage County Code Section2-300.4-108 (1) (b).

3. JPS-P-0116-18 Recommendation for the approval of a contract purchase order to Life Technologies Corporation for the purchase of an Automated Extraction System with an extended 2 year warranty for the Sheriff's Office, for a contract total not to exceed $49,165.10, per 55 ILCS 5/5-1022 “Competitive Bids” (c) not suitable for competitive bids-Sole Source. (Purchase of Automated DNA extraction system)
