Anna Weselak and Dennis McNicholas have a ride in Lombard's Lilac Time Parade reserved in 2018.

The two residents were named Senior Woman and Man of the Year at the 12th annual Senior Fair in Lombard Common Park's community building recently, according to the village's website.

Weselak, who has been a Lombard resident for more than 40 years, is former president of the National Parent-Teacher Association and a Lombard Chamber of Commerce member. She is an active member of the Lombard Service League and the Zonta Club.

McNicholas, a business owner in Lombard for more than 25 years, is on Lombard's Economic and Community Development Committee and was chamber president in 1990. He has been a Rotary Club member since 1987 and helped lead the club's efforts through the International Service Committee that helped Haiti establish water wells and has helped in disasters worldwide by sending shelter boxes.

“This event recognizes all of Lombard’s inspiring senior citizens,” Community Relations Committee Chairperson Robyn Pike said in the news release. “It’s just one way that we can say thank you for their contributions to our community."
