Olsen hosts first of mobile office hours events

Schedule 1000x667

Illinois State Representative David Olsen (R-Downers Grove) hosted his first mobile office hour event at the Downers Grove Public Library last week. The series allows constituents an opportunity to meet their new representative and express their comments and concerns on a variety of topics.

“I will personally staff these events so I can talk one-on-one with the people I represent in Springfield,” Olsen said. “I can help explain the services my office can provide while talking with people about the issues that are important to them. I hope to see many residents of the 81st Legislative House District at this or future mobile office hours events throughout the district.”

Olsen was appointed to the District 81 seat on July 30 after District 81 Representative Ron Sandack abruptly resigned from the position. Olsen took office on Aug. 3, after resigning from his position on the Downers Grove Village Council. He also serves as a College of DuPage Trustee and the Board Vice Chairman.

After taking office, Olsen refused to accept the pension offered to lawmakers. He stated that it was a conflict of interest, since legislators will be looking at pension reforms that could affect legislators', other state officials' and state employees' pension plans.

Future mobile office hours events will be posted on Olsen's website www.repolsen.com.

Olsen will face Democratic challenger Greg Hose in the general election on November 8.
