The Village of Downers Grove will hold its next long-range planning meeting Tuesday, Aug. 18.
The meeting will be held in the village hall committee room following the regular village council meeting beginning at 7 p.m.
The purpose of long-range planning is to permit the village council and community to discuss and develop solutions to issues facing the village that will likely affect the community in the future.
Residents of the Park District elect a non-partisan, five-member board of commissioners to govern the district. The park board determines the priorities and defines policies for financing, governance, operation and administration of the Park District. Board members are elected to serve unsalaried, overlapping four-year terms.
Working on behalf of residents are the five elected members of the board of park commissioners. The board sets the priorities and defines the policies for financing, governance, operation and administration of the district.
