State Sen. Dan Kotowski (D-IL) issued a statement on Wednesday in support of Gov. Bruce Rauner's signing of House Bill 3763, which will fund K-12, as well as early childhood education, for children throughout Illinois.

"This funding bill that I co-sponsored is the single-largest, education investment in Illinois history and gives our children the opportunity to attend school, learn and achieve the American dream," Kotowski said. "I commend Gov. Rauner for agreeing with this significant investment in one of our most important and valued assets: the children of Illinois. The governor's action today gives me hope for a resolution to the state's budget challenges."

Kotowsk said he will continue to work with Rauner and the legislature to develop effective ways to invest in the state's residents.
