Disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration are now available to residents and businesses in DuPage County following the severe thunderstorms and tornadoes that struck the Chicagoland area on June 11.

The U.S. Small Business Administration has issued a disaster declaration in response to the damage caused by the storms. The declaration enables affected individuals and businesses to apply for financial assistance to help recover from the impact of the weather event.

According to DuPage County, the declaration covers those who experienced losses due to the severe weather. The SBA disaster loans are intended to support recovery efforts for property damage and other storm-related losses.

The SBA offers low-interest loans to businesses, homeowners, and renters to repair or replace property damaged or destroyed in a declared disaster. These loans can be used for real estate, personal property, machinery, equipment, and inventory, according to the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Residents and business owners are encouraged to review eligibility requirements and application procedures on the SBA’s official website or through local government resources. Additional information about the disaster loans and the application process is available on the DuPage County website.
