Roselle reported 7 licensed child care sites in 2025

There were seven licensed child care sites operating in Roselle in 2025, according to the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.

The group included four licensed day care centers (57.1%), one group day care home (14.3%), and two family child care homes (28.6%).

Child care providers in Roselle serve children from infancy up to age 13, encompassing infants, toddlers, preschoolers and school-age children.

All child care facilities in Roselle offer services in English.

In all, Illinois had 8,602 licensed child care facilities in 2025.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services suspended certain federal child care and family assistance grants for California, Colorado, Minnesota, New York and Illinois over concerns of fraud and improper payment, the agency said Jan. 6. The suspension impacts close to $2.4 billion in Child Care and Development Fund grants, $7.35 billion in Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, and $869 million in Social Services Block Grants, requiring those states to provide documentation prior to release of funds. 

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker labeled the U.S. move "wrong and cruel" and said Illinois may mount a legal challenge, noting that anti‑fraud policies are already in place.

State officials say the freeze could impact about 100,000 families and more than 152,000 children involved with Illinois’s Child Care Assistance Program, as well as funding for thousands of licensed providers and 275 human service organizations.
