Report: Darien School District spent $12,129 per student in 2019-20
Spending per pupil at Darien School District 61 was up 10.5 percent from five years ago, according to the DuPage Policy Journal analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.
The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Dupage County school district spent $10,974 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $12,129 in 2019-20.
The district's enrollment fell from 1,546 to 1,388 students over the same period.
Darien's spending in 2019-20 was 16.3 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
