Rep. Jennifer Sanalitro (R-48th) took part in 82 recorded Illinois House floor votes during the 104th General Assembly on Thursday, May 21, 2026, supporting seventy-two measures and opposing six others.

Among her votes, Sanalitro opposed SB3496, legislation permitting the temporary suspension of a nurse’s license due to invalid credentials, which ultimately passed in the Illinois House. Per the Illinois General Assembly, the official summary described the measure as: "RN LICENSE TEMP SUSPENSION."

The information below clarifies and interprets the bill based on its official text.

In summary, the measure amends the Nurse Practice Act to empower the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation to temporarily suspend a nursing license or practice authorization without a hearing if the applicant is determined to have lacked proper credentials. The affected nurse must be notified and granted 30 days to request a Board review and present evidence of their qualifications; additional time may be provided while the suspension continues. Following review, the Board issues a recommendation to the director on withdrawing the license or removing the suspension under certain terms. Removing a license in this context is not considered disciplinary action or a disqualification for future licensure, but standard disciplinary steps may still proceed if warranted.

Sanalitro’s votes that day also included measures such as SB3066, SB3272, SB3487, SB2980, SB3071, SB3205, SB2913, SB3422, SB3329, SB2761, SB3314, SB2914, SB2972, SB3361, SB2769, SB2770, SB3644, SB3076, SB2749, SB3385, SB3325, SB0712, SB3379, SB3524, SB3116, SB3508, SB3688, SB3706, SB2899, SB2910, SB3049, SB3051, SB3295, SB3661, SB2838, SB2872, SB2951, SB3087, SB3111, SB3164, SB3224, SB3445, SB3517, SB3527, SB3545, SB3597, SB3632, SB3720, SB0454, SB2790, SB3048, SB3207, SB3258, SB3434, SB3509, SB3722, SB0638, SB2709, SB2713, SB2846, SB2859, SB2921, SB1573, SB2756, SB2773, SB2826, SB2836, SB2857, SB3016, SB3152, SB3196, SB1327, SB1454, SB1700, SB2102, SB2870, SB2879, SB2891, SB2892, SB2949 and SB3275.

Sanalitro, a Republican, was elected in 2023 to represent Illinois’ 48th House District, succeeding Terra Costa Howard in the State House.

In Illinois, bills pass through a multi-step legislative process that begins with introduction in either chamber, followed by committees, floor discussion, and votes in both the House and Senate before being sent to the governor for a decision. The General Assembly operates on a biennial cycle in which thousands of bills may be introduced, though only a portion complete the process and become law.
