Q4 2020 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in DuPage County?

There were 52 offenders released on parole during the fourth quarter of 2020 that live in DuPage County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by DuPage Policy Journal.

The data shows that 50 men and two women were released in DuPage County. The median age of the parolees was 37. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving one or more weapons in 2019, and the oldest was a 66-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving alcohol in 2020.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Refugio Blancas. He was convicted of a crime involving alcohol in 2006 when he was 31 years old. He is now 46.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
