Q1 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in DuPage County?
There were 45 offenders living in DuPage County released on parole during the first quarter of 2021, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by DuPage Policy Journal.
The data shows 40 men and five women were released in DuPage County. The median age of the parolees was 37. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man sentenced for a crime against justice in 2021, and the oldest was a 65-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving alcohol in 2020.
The offender incarcerated the longest was William Simpson. He was convicted of homicide in 1993 when he was 20 years old. He is now 49.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
