In 2025, Oak Brook reported 3 licensed child care facilities, according to the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.

All of these facilities were licensed as day care centers, making up 100% of the total.

Oak Brook providers accommodate multiple age ranges, which include children from 6 weeks to 3 years, 6 weeks to 6 years, and 2 weeks to 6 years.

All child care facilities in Oak Brook provide services in English.

Across Illinois, there were 8,602 licensed child care facilities in 2025.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services froze specific federal child care and family assistance funds for California, Colorado, Minnesota, New York and Illinois over alleged fraud and misuse, with the announcement made Jan. 6. The measure holds nearly $2.4 billion in Child Care and Development Fund grants, $7.35 billion in Temporary Assistance for Needy Families funds, and $869 million in Social Services Block Grants, requiring states to submit documentation for payment release.

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker described the move as “wrong and cruel” and indicated the state is considering contesting the freeze, noting Illinois already employs anti-fraud measures.

State officials say the freeze could impact about 100,000 families and over 152,000 children benefitting from the state’s Child Care Assistance Program, as well as funding for thousands of licensed providers and 275 human service agencies.
