North Central’s Shenita Lawson earns CCIW women’s wrestling weekly honor

North Central College junior Shenita Lawson has been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Student-Athlete of the Week in women’s wrestling. The announcement was made by the league office on Tuesday.

Lawson, who competes at 180 pounds and is ranked fourth nationally, secured a notable victory during the Cardinals’ dual meet against No. 3 Grand Valley State on Sunday. She achieved a 9–7 decision over Sabrina Nauss, who holds the second national ranking.

Lawson is the latest recipient of the weekly honor for the 2025-26 CCIW women's wrestling season. Previous honorees include Moni Griffin from Augustana (Nov. 18), Viola Pianetto from Elmhurst (Nov. 11), and Riley Rayome from North Central (Nov. 4).
